SF and the damaging effects of literary status envy

What is good sci-fi ?  I think this is a really interesting article about literature and science fiction in the container of a discussion about politics in science fiction writing.  The 'Evil League of Evil' - how could one not want to join such an organization.  Yes Janet, I did find it on Instapundit :)

  1. I love Larry Correia's Monster Hunters International books -- they are very funny and lots of fun. I am aware of the snarls against him as glorifying heteronormals behavior and guns. Who cares? I read Scalzi -- because I think he is a good story teller and in spite of his politics, which for the most part he keeps out of his books. I think Sarah Hoyt writes much better stories and characters than stuff that keeps winning awards, and, writing as an English major, I completely agree with the writer's comments on the burden of gang-politics blinding people to good stories. Very funny essay. And I will vote with the Evil League of Evil as I mostly download indie stuff from indie publishers anyway. A cheery good day to you all.
